Description

Founded by Don Cenobio in 1873 in Tequila, Jalisco, Fortaleza crafts their tequila honoring their history and using traditional methods. Fortaleza Winter Blend 2021 Release is their third release from their annual winter releases. Crafted using 100% Blue Weber agave, after a tahona, or volcanic rock, crushing, it was double distilled in a small copper pot still.

The tequila was then aged in American Oak for 6 months and then matured for a final 6 months in French oak Marsala wine casks. Around 10,500 bottles were bottled at cask strength, 92.6 proof. On the nose is spice and a bit of zest. The palate is invigorating, with notes of ginger, pepper, cinnamon and baking spices balancing with rich notes of butter, vanilla, cocoa, and herbs.
