Description

Espolòn is a great bottle to sip solo or share with friends. Before the tequila itself, take a moment for the label art. It clearly celebrates Mexican culture, and how! The artwork draws on 19th-century Mexican prints. This tequila is 100% blue Weber agave. It is made at Destiladora San Nicolas in Los Altos, the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. This tequila rests for a few months in American oak barrels. The oak softens the spirit without hiding its agave character.

On the nose, cooked agave meets caramel fudge and a little spice. The palate is bold, with a medium-to-full body. You also get tropical fruit, vanilla, and warm brown spices. It ends with a smooth, gently spicy finish. Overall, agave and wood sit in nice harmony.

Master distiller Cirilo Oropeza first made Espolòn in 1998. The Reposado has collected medals at international spirits competitions. It is a bottle that keeps delivering, year after year, at a friendly price.
