Description

Don Ramón Silver, also called blanco or plata, is made from 100% Blue Weber agave. The agave grows in Los Altos, the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. Its iron-rich red clay soils tend to give sweeter, fruitier plants. Casa Don Ramón, a respected tequila house founded in 1996, crafts every bottle.

The team presses the agave before cooking, which draws out a greener, more herbal character. The spirit is double distilled for a clean, smooth profile. It is bottled unaged, so it pours crystal clear with a slight silver shine. Each 750ml bottle is 40% ABV, or 80 proof.

Cooked agave leads on the nose, followed by fresh floral and herbal notes. The palate is clean and gently sweet, with bright citrus and herbs. A warming minerality builds in the middle. The finish is clean and refreshing, with lasting agave warmth and a light peppery edge.

This tequila won a Double Gold medal at the 2009 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. It comes in the brand's Punta Diamante bottle.

Sip it neat or over ice to enjoy the agave on its own terms. It is also a great base for Margaritas, Palomas and a Tequila Sunrise. Serve it with ceviche, citrus dishes or spicy Mexican food.
