About Basil Hayden

Basil Hayden was created in 1992 by sixth-generation Jim Beam master distiller Frederick “Booker” Noe with the intent of showcasing more of bourbon's craft and character, all while keeping it approachable. The flagship is a high-rye Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 80 proof, with official notes of spice, tea, peppermint, honey, pepper, and a brief, clean finish.

You'll hear 'approachability' often here. Basil Hayden offers a gradual route into deeper sweetness, spice, oak, and finishing techniques while keeping the overall experience easy to get into. It's not intimidating, nor will it ever be.
