The Prisoner is the flagship wine from The Prisoner Wine Company, one of America’s most influential and trendsetting wineries. Available in the classic 750mL bottle, this bold red blend is primarily led by Zinfandel, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Syrah, and hints of Charbono or Merlot. Inspired by the “mixed black” field blends crafted by Italian immigrants in Napa Valley, The Prisoner stands out for its rich, full-bodied character and deeply fruit-forward style. Although sourced from vineyards across California, the wine embodies the modern, luxurious expression of Napa Valley.

With an alcohol content ranging from 15.2% to 15.5% ABV, it delivers intensity and warmth in every sip. The aroma is layered with notes of Bing cherry, dark chocolate, clove, roasted fig, and vanilla, while the palate bursts with ripe blackberry, raspberry, and pomegranate flavors, balanced by hints of baking spices. Its velvety texture, smooth tannins, and lingering finish make it truly memorable. Aged in both French and American oak, it gains subtle nuances of toast, spice, and vanilla.

Originally created in 2000 by visionary winemaker Dave Phinney, The Prisoner became an instant cult favorite. Now owned by Constellation Brands, it continues to captivate wine lovers and pairs beautifully with grilled meats, rich stews, or savory-sweet dishes.
