Description

San Matias Anniversary Blend marks 135 years of tequila making at Casa San Matías. The house is one of the oldest distilleries in Mexico, based in the highlands of Jalisco. This is the first blend in its long history. The team brought together its best añejo and extra añejo tequilas, all made from 100% blue Weber agave.

The bottle is a showpiece too. Each one carries 135 European crystals, set by hand in partnership with PRECIOSA. That is one crystal for every year of the house.

Pour it and you will see an intense amber with copper hues and golden sparkles. The first aromas are caramel, chocolate, maple and vanilla. Toasted almonds, walnuts and dried fruit sit deeper in the glass. As you sip, dried plums, coffee and a hint of violet rise up. The taste is slightly sweet, with very little alcohol heat. It has a gently oily texture and a smooth, harmonious finish.

Judges have noticed. It earned Double Gold and 92 points at the 2024 TAG Global Spirits Awards.

This tequila is made for slow sipping. Enjoy it neat or with a single large cube. Try it next to aged cheese or a square of dark chocolate. It makes a striking gift for a milestone birthday or anniversary.
