Crafted by Marchesi Antinori, one of Italy’s oldest and most respected wine families, this Brunello di Montalcino is a true symbol of Tuscan excellence. It is produced at the Pian delle Vigne estate, which Antinori acquired in 1995, located in the heart of Montalcino, Tuscany. Classified as a prestigious DOCG wine, it represents the highest quality level under Italian wine law. Made entirely from 100% Sangiovese grapes, known locally as Brunello, this full-bodied red wine stands out for its richness, depth, and exceptional ability to age gracefully.
The wine displays a deep ruby-red hue that gradually takes on a garnet tint as it matures. On the nose, it reveals aromas of ripe cherries, raspberries, violets, cocoa, tobacco, and spices, creating an inviting and layered bouquet. On the palate, it is elegant, rich, and balanced, with smooth tannins and lively acidity. Expect flavors of dark fruit, herbs, licorice, and a hint of dark chocolate.
Aged in large oak casks to preserve the pure character of Sangiovese, it meets the legal requirement of at least two years in oak and further bottle aging before release. With 14–14.5% ABV, it pairs beautifully with grilled steak, roast lamb, veal piccata, or aged cheeses, earning consistent praise from top wine critics.
