This mezcal is an authentic and high-quality spirit crafted in the traditional Artesanal style, and it stays true to the roots of classic mezcal making. It uses only 100% Espadín Agave, which is the most common and versatile agave for mezcal, and it comes from Oaxaca, the cultural heart of this craft. Each bottle is a standard 750 ml and reflects the care that goes into every small batch.
The Espadín agave grows for eight to ten years before harvest, and the hearts are roasted in an underground pit with mesquite wood and hot stones. This slow roast creates the signature smoky taste that mezcal lovers appreciate. After roasting, the agave is crushed with a large stone wheel called a Tahona, and the juice naturally ferments in wooden vats with wild airborne yeast. The spirit is then double-distilled in copper pot stills to create a clean yet bold profile.
Many batches are bottled at a stronger alcohol level, usually between 48% and 51% ABV, which gives the mezcal a rich and expressive flavor. You will taste a balance of smoke, sweet cooked agave, ripe fruit, white pepper, and earthy minerals. The black handprint on the bottle honors the hard work of the Maestro Mezcalero, whose name may change with each batch. It is best enjoyed neat at room temperature, though it also lifts any premium mezcal cocktail.
