Merry Edwards Winery is celebrated for its exceptional Pinot Noir and was founded by Merry Edwards, one of California’s pioneering female winemakers. The wine hails from the cool-climate Russian River Valley in Sonoma County, a region famous for producing world-class Pinot Noir. Crafted from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, this red wine comes in a standard 750ml bottle and reflects the perfect balance of depth, elegance, and longevity. It’s an appellation blend, thoughtfully combining grapes from areas like the Santa Rosa Plain, Sebastopol Hills, and Laguna Ridge to create remarkable complexity and harmony.
In the glass, it reveals rich red fruit flavors such as black cherry, raspberry, and plum, complemented by notes of vanilla, cola spice, black tea, thyme, and floral hints of rose and violet. The texture is smooth and lush, with a vibrant acidity and soft tannins that lead to a long, spicy finish.
Aged in French oak barrels—around 47% new oak for the 2022 vintage—the wine achieves a refined structure and layered depth. With an alcohol content between 14.0% and 14.5%, it often earns impressive ratings (92–94 points) from major critics. Priced between $60 and $85, it pairs beautifully with roasted duck, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, or herb-crusted lamb.
