Description
Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 Tennessee Whiskey, also known as the Black Label, comes in a 750ml bottle and is a Tennessee Whiskey, not Bourbon, due to an extra filtering step. It is made using the Lincoln County Process, where the whiskey is slowly filtered through sugar maple charcoal before aging. Produced at Jack Daniel’s Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee—founded in 1866 and the oldest registered distillery in the U.S.—this whiskey is usually bottled at 80 proof (40% alcohol).
It is made mainly from corn, with a blend of rye and malted barley, and aged in new, charred American white oak barrels. The whiskey is matured for 4 to 7 years, or until tasters decide it is ready, resulting in a smooth, mellow taste with hints of caramel, vanilla, toasted oak, and a touch of sweetness or banana. Versatile and approachable, it can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or in cocktails like Jack and Coke or an Old Fashioned.
Made with iron-free cave spring water from the distillery grounds, it comes in a distinctive square bottle with the black “Old No. 7” label and was originally created by Jasper Newton “Jack” Daniel. Today, it remains one of the world’s best-selling American whiskeys.
