What it gives you is a slightly sweet profile that has made it one of the world’s most recognisable whiskies.

Charred American oak barrels impart vanilla, caramel, and toasted oak notes. The Lincoln County Process, which filters the spirit in vats of sugar maple charcoal before barreling, makes Jack Daniel’s smoother and rounder - essentially less sharp compared to other bourbons. The aroma is reminiscent of caramel, vanilla, toasted oak, and a hint of molasses. 

Jack Daniel’s started early. It received the gold medal for the finest whiskey at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. It went uphill from there. 1913 saw it winning the Gold Medal of excellence in Ghent, Belgium: The year after that. A Certificate of Excellence in London. More recently, it was recognized as Whiskey of the Year in 2022.
