Herradura Añejo Tequila is a finely aged spirit crafted with tradition and care. By law, Añejo tequilas must be aged for at least one year, but Herradura goes further, aging its tequila for a minimum of 25 months in American white oak barrels. This extra time gives the tequila its deep amber color with golden and copper tones. Made from 100% Blue Weber Agave, it is produced by Casa Herradura in Amatitán, Jalisco, Mexico — a region known for its rich tequila-making heritage.
Introduced in 1962, Herradura was the first Añejo tequila ever sold commercially, setting the standard for quality and craftsmanship. The agave is slow-roasted in traditional clay ovens for 26 hours, then naturally fermented with wild yeasts from the fruit trees around the Hacienda. This careful process brings out a complex aroma filled with notes of vanilla, caramel, oak, spice, and cooked agave.
On the palate, Herradura Añejo is smooth and full-bodied, offering rich flavors of oak, dried fruit, caramel, and warm spices like cinnamon. It finishes long, creamy, and pleasantly warm. Bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) in a 750ml bottle, it’s best enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or in an elegant cocktail like an Old Fashioned.
