This Añejo Tequila is made from 100% Blue Weber Agave, grown in the Los Altos region of Southern Jalisco, Mexico. It is first aged for 10 months in new American oak barrels and then finished for 2 months in deeply charred bourbon barrels, giving it a total aging time of around 12 months, which meets the Añejo classification. The result is a bright reddish-gold or deep amber tequila with a rich and inviting look.
Each sip offers a balanced blend of roasted agave and oak, complemented by notes of dried fruits, butterscotch, and vanilla. The flavor is medium to full-bodied, with a smooth and velvety texture that lingers pleasantly on the palate. You’ll taste caramel, vanilla, dried fruits, chocolate, and a touch of mild spice, creating a warm and refined finish.
Bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV), this tequila is crafted at Destiladora San Nicolas (NOM-144) under the expert guidance of Cirilo Oropeza, who is known for his dedication to quality. It’s best enjoyed neat or over ice, but also shines in spirit-forward cocktails like an Old Fashioned. The brand name, inspired by the rooster’s spur, proudly reflects Mexican culture and heritage.
