Ardbeg Uigeadail is a smoky whiskey from the Ardbeg Distillery, which is famously known for making a peaty spirit with the lush, raisiny influence of sherry cask maturation. 

The nose is immediate and grabs your attention with peat smoke, bonfire embers, and iodine are your first whiffs. You are then met with black cherry, fig, and dark chocolate, and a background of leather and old oak. On the palate, the whisky is full‑bodied and layered, with the initial impact being a wave of peat smoke and charred wood, quickly followed by molasses, sultana, and espresso, and then a complex spice profile of clove, cinnamon, and a hint of black pepper. The sherry casks lend a tannic backbone and a velvetiness that softens the rawness of the peat without muting it. Hence, the finish is both smoky and fruit‑driven.

Jim Murray's Whisky Bible named it the World Whisky of the Year for 2009 and 2010 as well as the Scotch Single Malt of the Year. San Francisco World Spirits Competition loved this bottle, giving it a Double Gold Medal for the years 2011, 2012, and 2022.
