Translating to sea and sun in French, Mer Soleil is a winery that is exposed to all of the elements. The winery is located close to Monterey in California. Has typical Northern Californian morning fog, bright and consistent sun throughout the day, with wild gusts in the evening. These conditions might seem too chaotic for growing wine grapes, but they are wonderful.

Mer Soleil produces a range of amazing wines, with a specialty in whites. The Mer Soleil silver Chardonnay is a favorite with our customers. Their pale wine is bottled with an unconventional look, showcasing a unique expression. Fruity, crisp, and light, this is a bit of a deviation from the other buttery Chardonnays of California. Mer Soleil reserve chardonnay is a wonderful, different expression from silver. It is more full-bodied, deep, and rich in flavor. Mer Soleil Pinot Noir is nothing to be overlooked. Their pinot noir gets a slightly colder environment to grow in than other Californian varietals. This allows for a more complex peppery spice, with a slightly lighter body that allows for more flavor variety to come through.
