Tincup Rye is a straight rye whiskey with a Colorado accent. It is distilled at MGP in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, from 95% rye and 5% malted barley. The spirit ages three years in new charred oak. It then heads west, where Rocky Mountain water brings it down to 90 proof.

The brand takes its name from Tin Cup, a small mountain town in Colorado. This rye arrived in 2020 as a spicier partner to the original Tincup whiskey. It keeps the same easygoing, outdoor spirit.

Bring it to your nose and you'll find sweet vanilla and a note of fresh tobacco. A little baking spice joins in as it sits. The palate is smooth and bold, with even rye spice from start to end. The finish lingers on caramel, with a silky, slightly tannic feel.

Critics agree it punches above its price. In 2024 the Beverage Testing Institute gave it 92 points and a Gold Medal.
