Description
Hand-crafted in Amatitan, a small pueblo in Jalisco, Mexico, Tezcazul Tequila comes from what most consider to be the original birthplace of the beloved Mexican spirit. With rich, red volcanic soils and intense sunshine, the agave they source from this region is premium, flavorful, and organic. After seven years of maturation, the piñas are harvested and then cooked in a traditional stone brick horno for approximately two days. The resulting pulque, or sweet nectar, is fermented in small batches to create their pure, base Blanco Tequila. Tezcazul Tequila Reposado builds off of the incredible palate of Tezcazul blanco after aging in seasoned American White Oak barrels. On the nose are notes of oak, white pepper, vanilla, and baking spices with a touch of minerality. The palate is medium bodied with an intense butterscotch, pepper, citrus, and cinnamon working in tandem with the developed cooked agave flavor. The finish is pleasantly long and lingering, making this reposado easy to savor. Try it neat or craft a cocktail such as a Calavera Catrina or Paloma.
