Description
In 1992 Antonio Urrutia, an Oscar nominated Mexican film director, and Cesar Hernandez, a hand-blown glass artist conceived of the idea of Chamucos Tequila. The two friends teamed up with Mark Howard, a US importer who became inspired by bottles from Cesar’s glass factory. The original recipe came from the trio working alongside famous Master Distiller Ing. Hector Davalos, and was initially bottled and solely produced as reposado. After launching in Mexico and the US in 1994, Chamucos would go on to introduce their blanco in 2009 and their Anejo in 2010. Now sold in eight different countries, Chamucos Tequila is the only certified Non-GMO tequila, using organic farming practices for over 18 years. With a commitment to sustainability, Chamucos uses recycled bottles, paper for labels, and cardboard gift and carton boxes as well as a modern steam generator to reduce emissions. Tequila Chamucos Blanco is certified organic with its wonderful blue agave flavor reflected in its aroma. The palate is silky smooth with a soft mouthfeel balancing notes of spice, vanilla, cinnamon, citrus, fennel and a hint of smokiness. The finish offers a smooth, mild heat rounded out by a touch of earthiness.
