Crafted by Taylor Fladgate, one of the oldest and most respected Port houses in Portugal’s Douro Valley, this 10-Year-Old Tawny Port is a true expression of tradition and craftsmanship. It’s a fortified wine, enriched with grape spirit to give it natural sweetness and a smooth, warming finish. Aged for an average of 10 years in small seasoned oak barrels—known as pipes—in Taylor Fladgate’s cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia near Oporto, it develops a mellow character and deep complexity over time. The wine’s youthful red tones gradually soften into a warm amber or tawny color with a golden rim, revealing its maturity.
Each sip offers layers of flavor—dried fruits like fig, apricot, and raisin blend beautifully with hints of almond, hazelnut, caramel, and toffee. With about 20% ABV and 107–110 grams of sugar per liter, it’s rich yet balanced, making it perfect for those who enjoy smooth, sweet wines. Unlike Vintage Port, it’s ready to drink right from the bottle and doesn’t require decanting. Best served slightly chilled (12°C–16°C), it pairs wonderfully with desserts featuring chocolate, nuts, or caramel, and with creamy, nutty cheeses. Once opened, it stays fresh for up to six weeks when stored properly.
