This red blend, often described as a Bordeaux-style wine with a Californian twist, showcases the best of Napa Valley, especially from the renowned Stags Leap District. Crafted from four main grape varieties—Merlot, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec—it perfectly balances softness and strength. The Merlot brings a smooth, velvety texture, while the Petite Sirah adds boldness and spice. Each sip reveals layers of rich flavors such as blackberry, black cherry, blueberry, plum, vanilla, and warm spices like clove and allspice. You may also notice subtle hints of black pepper, herbs, tobacco, or dark chocolate that add depth and complexity.
The wine’s texture is beautifully balanced, offering silky tannins and a long, refreshing finish. Each grape variety is aged separately to bring out its best character—Petite Sirah in American oak and the others in French oak. With an alcohol content of around 14.0% to 14.6%, it’s full-bodied yet elegant. Consistently earning high praise from top critics like James Suckling and Wine Enthusiast, some vintages have scored up to 97 points. Perfect for pairing with hearty dishes such as lamb, beef, veal, or mushroom risotto, The Investor by Stags’ Leap Winery—a historic estate founded in 1893—symbolizes the art of blending tradition with innovation.
