This wine comes from one of Napa Valley’s most iconic wineries, Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, located in the renowned Stags Leap District of California. Crafted mainly from Cabernet Sauvignon—the signature grape of the region—it represents the true character of Napa’s bold yet elegant reds. Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars rose to fame when its 1973 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon won first place at the legendary 1976 “Judgment of Paris” tasting, putting California wines on the global map.
Each 750 mL bottle is made from a single year’s harvest, capturing the unique weather and growing conditions of that vintage. The wine is full-bodied and structured, with fine tannins and balanced acidity that bring out flavors of dark fruits like black currant, cherry, and plum. Subtle hints of cedar, vanilla, and dark chocolate come from aging in French oak barrels, adding spice, depth, and a silky finish.
Known for its signature “iron fist in a velvet glove” style, this Cabernet pairs beautifully with grilled steak, lamb, or mushroom dishes. Premium vintages can age gracefully for 7–10 years or more, becoming even more complex over time. For the best experience, serve slightly cool (around 60°F) and decant younger vintages for one to three hours.
