You’re looking at a Port that carries four decades of character in every sip. Sandeman’s 40 Year Old Tawny Port ages in wooden casks for an average of forty years, and you feel that depth the moment you open the bottle. You get layers of walnut, caramel, honey, dried fig, and warm spice, and each note lands softly without overwhelming you. Long aging turns its color into a glowing amber-gold with copper highlights, and its texture stays silky and fresh, even after all those years in oak.
Sandeman blends wines aged anywhere from 30 to 55 years to keep the flavor balanced and true to their house style. Because this is a fortified wine, you get natural sweetness and an ABV close to 20%. You don’t need to decant it; the wine is ready as soon as you pour it. Serve it slightly chilled to bring out its full aroma.
You can keep an opened bottle for two to three months, which makes it easy to enjoy slowly. Pair it with nutty desserts, crème brûlée, chocolate treats, or rich cheeses. If you enjoy aged Port with real depth, this one won’t disappoint.
