Established in 1992, Mossburn bottles a range of single vintage whiskies from other various distilleries, most of which are sourced from around Scotland. One of the two most common whiskies from Mossburn, their Blended Malt Island comes from their Signature Cask Series. The cask bill is a blend of single malts all sourced from various osland regions. They are first aged in 200L ex-bourbon casks and then finished in first-fill bourbon casks with heavily-charred virgin American oak heads. The aromas are savory and smoky, with notes of lightly toasted nuts, leading into a palate filled with flavors of baked apple pie, smoked almonds, browned butter and an intense peaty smoke. The finish is short, with a surprising sweetness and a hint of maritime minerality. Enjoy this whiskey neat or on the rocks!
