Migration Chardonnay is a beautifully crafted wine from Migration, a respected winery within The Duckhorn Portfolio—one of California’s most renowned wine families. Made entirely from 100% Chardonnay grapes, this wine hails from the cool-climate Sonoma Coast AVA, part of California’s North Coast. Migration focuses on producing wines that balance vibrancy and finesse, with bright acidity, lower alcohol, and refined fruit flavors. The vineyards benefit from ocean fog and cool Pacific breezes that slow the ripening process, helping to preserve freshness and natural character. Grown in Goldridge sandy loam soils, these grapes develop exceptional quality and depth.
In the glass, this Chardonnay delights with flavors of lemon zest, Fuji apple, pear, and stone fruits like nectarine and peach. Secondary layers of brioche, vanilla, toasted hazelnut, and crème brûlée add richness and complexity. Aged for about 10 months in French oak—with partial malolactic fermentation—it achieves a creamy texture without becoming overly heavy or oaky. Crafted under the direction of Winemaker Dana Epperson since its first vintage in 2008, Migration Chardonnay consistently earns 90+ point ratings from top critics. Its buttery yet balanced style pairs beautifully with seafood, poultry, creamy pastas, or soft cheeses like goat’s cheese or feta, making it a versatile favorite for any occasion.
