This is a smooth and elegant red wine made from light-skinned Pinot Noir grapes, and it brings together fruit from top coastal regions like Sonoma, Monterey, and Santa Barbara. Its name means “coast” in the Wappo and Yuki tribal languages, which reflects the wine’s coastal roots.
The flavor opens with bright notes of strawberry, dark cherry, boysenberry, and other jammy red fruits, while hints of mocha, vanilla, and toasted oak come from aging the wine for about six months in French oak barrels. The texture is silky and full for a Pinot Noir, and the gentle tannins make it easy to enjoy. It carries a touch of sweetness that feels off-dry, yet the balanced acidity keeps it fresh rather than heavy.
You will notice a rich garnet color with a clean ruby edge, and the alcohol level usually sits around 13.7% to 13.8%. The style is modern and approachable, offering more depth and flavor than many other Pinot Noirs in its category. It pairs beautifully with grilled salmon, roasted chicken or turkey, thin-crust pizza, tomato pasta, and grilled lamb. For the best experience, serve it slightly chilled at 55°C to 58°C.
