This Cognac is made only from grapes grown in Grande Champagne, the top-rated cru of the region known for its exceptional quality. It comes from Maxime Trijol, a family distillery whose history dates back to the mid-1800s, and their first still was built in 1859. The spirit is crafted entirely from Ugni Blanc grapes from the same area and is classified as “Extra,” which means it is very old, deeply matured, and a step above a standard XO in both richness and refinement.
It is bottled at 40 percent ABV and is usually available in a 750 ml bottle, although you may also find it in a 700 ml size. The Cognac shows a beautiful topaz color with golden hues, while the aroma is rich and layered with crystallized fruit, liquorice, dried fruits, warm spices, and a gentle hint of rancio.
The taste is full and balanced, offering candied ginger, ripe stone fruits, and silky oak, along with a smooth blend of sweetness and spice. It feels soft and velvety on the palate and finishes long and warm. Presented in an elegant decanter with a gold stopper, it suits collectors and connoisseurs who enjoy refined and luxurious spirits.
