Description

Martell VS is the everyday Cognac from Maison Martell, a house founded in 1715. VS stands for Very Special. Under Cognac rules, every eau-de-vie in a VS has spent at least two years in oak. It's bottled at 40% ABV.

Martell does something unusual at the very start. It distills only clear wines, with all the lees removed. That keeps the spirit clean and lets the fruit shine. The eaux-de-vie then age in fine-grain oak. Many bottles say Single Distillery, which means the spirit comes from one distillery.

In the glass, it shows a rich, clear gold. The nose is full of plum, apricot and candied lemon. On the palate, it's smooth, round and fruity. The finish stays clean and gentle.

Martell VS keeps winning medals. It took Gold at the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. It also won Gold at the 2024 Global Cognac Masters.

You can sip it neat or over ice, but it really shines in long drinks. Try it with ginger ale or ginger beer, or mix a VS Mule. A Sidecar is another easy win. Serve it with dark chocolate, nuts or fruit desserts. It's a friendly, good-value way to get to know Cognac.
