Description

Lunazul Blanco comes from Tierra de Agaves, an estate in the heart of Jalisco, Mexico. It is run by the Beckmann family, who have made tequila for more than 250 years. Today Jorge Beckmann looks after the estate his father, Francisco, started. The agave is grown, distilled and bottled right there.

It is made from 100% Blue Weber agave and bottled unaged at 80 proof. That keeps it crystal clear and full of fresh agave flavor. The price stays friendly, so it makes a great first bottle if you are new to tequila.

The nose shows fresh cooked agave with bright citrus and ripe fruit. A light herbal note, close to mint, sits underneath. On the palate it is smooth and balanced. Ripe fruit meets black pepper and crisp citrus, with a hint of vanilla. The finish is clean, crisp and refreshing.

A modest price does not mean a modest record. At the 2018 Ultimate Spirits Challenge it scored 96 points, the top score in its category. It earned the Chairman's Trophy. Judges also called it "Extraordinary, Ultimate Recommendation" and "Great Value."

Mix it into a Margarita or a Paloma, or sip it neat. It goes well with ceviche, tacos or grilled shrimp with lime. Bartenders like it, casual drinkers like it, and beginners can grow with it.
