This ready-to-drink cocktail is perfect for anyone who wants a high-quality drink without the hassle of mixing. It is crafted with Jefferson’s Bourbon, a six-year-old bourbon originally at 125 proof, which is carefully reduced to 82.3 proof before blending. The cocktail combines Jefferson’s Bourbon with sweet and dry vermouth, along with barrel-aged spiced cherry bitters, creating a rich and complex flavor profile.
Aged in oak barrels for approximately 90 days, it allows the flavors to meld beautifully, resulting in tasting notes of dark cherries, candied fruit, nutmeg, dried cranberry, and a subtle wine-like character. The bourbon’s caramel, vanilla, and oak notes are perfectly balanced by herbal vermouth and the gentle spice of the bitters. Bottled at 68 proof (34% alcohol) in a standard 750ml bottle, it delivers a smooth and refined experience with lingering hints of vanilla, dried cherry, and a touch of spice.
Best served chilled, straight from the fridge, or over ice, it offers the classic Manhattan experience without the need for measuring or mixing. Developed in collaboration with Esquire’s Editor-in-Chief, David Granger, this cocktail is highly rated as an easy, sophisticated choice for entertaining. Produced by McLain & Kyne Distillers in Kentucky, the label may also note “colored with carrot extract” from the barrel-aged bitters.
