Domaine Jean Chartron is a family-owned estate established in 1859, playing an important role in the history of Puligny-Montrachet. This wine is made entirely from 100% Chardonnay, the famous white grape of Burgundy, and represents a high-quality dry white wine. Puligny-Montrachet, where the estate is located, is one of Burgundy’s top white wine villages, and it lies within Côte de Beaune, a region celebrated for producing elegant, mineral-rich Chardonnays.
The wine comes in a standard 750ml bottle and offers enticing aromas of citrus, including lemon and lime, along with notes of white flowers, peach, and pear. Oak aging adds subtle hints of butter, hazelnut, and toast, giving it additional complexity. On the palate, it is smooth and well-balanced, with a creamy texture, strong mineral notes, and a long, satisfying finish. Fermented and aged in French oak barrels, sometimes with new oak and lees stirring, it delivers extra flavor and depth. With an alcohol content of around 13.0–13.5%, it is best served chilled at 10–12°C (50–54°F).
Enjoyable when young, it can also age gracefully for 3–8 years or more. It pairs beautifully with seafood, rich fish, chicken, turkey, and soft cheeses, capturing the classic Burgundian style: buttery, complex, and mineral-driven.
