Description

Hudson Manhattan Rye is a straight rye from Tuthilltown Spirits in Gardiner, New York. Its name nods to the classic Manhattan. The distillery began in a converted granary in the early 2000s. William Grant & Sons now owns the brand.

It is made from 100% rye grown near the distillery. It is pot distilled, aged in small new charred oak casks, and bottled at 46% ABV.

Cinnamon and warm spice open the nose, with oak and a little sweetness. The palate brings peppery rye, cinnamon, mint and dry oak. The finish is dry and spicy.

It won a Silver Medal at the 2012 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Stir it into a Manhattan, or sip it neat with aged cheddar.
