Goldeneye Ten Degrees Pinot Noir 2018 (750Ml)

Dan and Margaret Duckhorn founded Goldeneye in 1996. They are the same couple behind Duckhorn Vineyards. Goldeneye calls Anderson Valley home, in California’s Mendocino County. This cool, foggy valley is known for exceptional Pinot Noir. Ten Degrees is the winery’s flagship. It is made only from the finest lots each year.

The 2018 is deep, rich and very aromatic. The wine is both powerful and elegant. Plum, blackberry, strawberry and raspberry lead the nose. Earth, anise, spearmint and a hint of leather add layers. On the palate, lush fruit meets a firm texture. Bright, lively acidity carries it to a long finish.

The grapes were cold-soaked, fermented in small open-top tanks and basket-pressed. The wine then aged in French oak, 70% of it new. It is bottled at 14.5% alcohol.

Critics loved this vintage. James Suckling gave it 95 points, and The Somm Journal matched that score. Wine Enthusiast rated it 94 points, and Jeb Dunnuck gave it 93. It has the structure to keep improving in your cellar for years.

Serve it slightly cool with roast duck, grilled salmon or mushroom risotto. If you open it young, give it an hour to breathe first.
