Don Julio 70 Añejo Cristalino Tequila, also called Claro or Crystal Añejo, was created to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Don Julio González starting his journey in tequila making. It is recognized as the world’s first Cristalino Añejo tequila and is made entirely from Blue Weber Agave grown in the Los Altos region of Jalisco, Mexico.
This tequila is aged for 18 months in American white oak barrels, meeting the Añejo standard, and is then filtered through charcoal to remove the color from the barrel. This process keeps the smooth, rich Añejo flavor while giving it a clear, crystal-like appearance, combining the depth of an Añejo with the fresh agave taste of a Blanco tequila.
On the palate, it tastes crisp and rich, with classic Añejo notes like caramel, toffee, oak, and vanilla, along with hints of honey, toasted oak, cooked agave, and spice. The finish is clean and warm, leaving a lingering oak taste. Typically found in a 750 mL bottle with 40% ABV (80 proof), it is best enjoyed neat or on the rocks to fully appreciate its flavor. Distilled and bottled by Tequila Don Julio, S.A. de C.V., in Jalisco, Mexico, this tequila perfectly balances tradition, elegance, and smooth sophistication.
