Don Cayo Añejo is a traditionally made tequila aged for at least three years in oak barrels. The extended aging gives it a deep amber color and a mature, well-rounded character. From the first sip, you can tell this tequila is meant to be enjoyed slowly, not rushed.
You’ll notice flavors of caramel and vanilla upfront, followed by toasted oak and light spice. As it opens up, hints of roasted coffee and dark chocolate come through. The texture feels smooth and controlled, never harsh. The finish lingers with gentle warmth, soft oak, and a touch of sweetness.
Bring the glass closer and you’ll pick up dried fruit, cinnamon, and subtle vanilla, layered over earthy oak. This tequila pairs well with grilled meats, aged cheeses, and dark chocolate. It also works alongside spicy dishes without overpowering them.
This is a good choice if you enjoy sipping tequila neat or on the rocks and value traditional craftsmanship over flashy labels.
