This Extra Añejo tequila is aged for at least three years, giving it a rich and sophisticated character. It is made from 100% Blue Weber Agave and comes in a standard 750ml bottle with 40% ABV (80 Proof). What makes it truly special is its Wine Cask Finish, which adds fruity, sweet, and complex flavors. The tequila undergoes a multi-barrel aging process: it spends about two years in French oak, often used for red wine, and at least one more year in medium-charred white oak. This extended aging of three years or more earns it the Extra Añejo designation.
Produced in the Valle region of Jalisco, Mexico, it is crafted at Tequilera Puerta de Hierro under the official NOM 1477 and overseen by Master Distiller Alberto Partida Hermosillo and his family.
On the palate, it offers notes of earthy agave, sweet oak, caramel, vanilla, dried fruit, cherry, and spices. Its flavor is rich and layered with hints of vanilla, toasted oak, dark chocolate, cherry, and light fruitiness. The finish is smooth and velvety, long, and warming. This tequila is best enjoyed neat or sipped slowly to fully appreciate its complexity, making it ideal for connoisseurs or anyone who enjoys aged, sophisticated spirits, especially fans of fine whiskey.
