This blended Canadian whisky is aged for at least 12 years and comes in a 750mL bottle with 40% alcohol by volume (80 proof). It is distilled in Gimli, Manitoba, and blended and bottled in Amherstburg, Ontario, and is proudly owned by Diageo.
Made from a blend of five carefully selected whiskies and aged in charred American white oak barrels, it delivers a rich oak flavor with aromas of red fruits, apples, pears, vanilla, and light baking spices. On the palate, it tastes of orchard fruits, white chocolate, rye spice, toasted oak, and smooth caramel, offering a smooth, warm, and balanced experience with gentle hints of cinnamon and apple. Compared to standard Crown Royal, this is a more mature and refined version with a velvety texture and complex flavor.
It is best enjoyed neat or on the rocks, but also works beautifully in premium cocktails like an Old Fashioned. Packaged to reflect its premium status, some releases may even skip the traditional purple bag.
