Codigo Rosa Tequila (750Ml)

Description

Código Rosa is a rested blanco tequila from Código 1530 in Jalisco, Mexico. It starts as Código Blanco, made from 100% blue Weber agave grown in the lowlands. The agave matures for about seven years before harvest. Water from Amatitán, filtered through volcanic soil, goes into every batch.

The tequila is rested for one month in uncharred French white oak barrels. Those barrels once held Napa Valley Cabernet. Because the wood is not charred, the wine meets the spirit directly. That is where the soft rose-pink color comes from. Nothing is added, so there are no sweeteners, flavorings or coloring.

Co-founder Federico Vaughan made this pink tequila privately for close to ten years. He poured it for family and friends at his home in Cabo San Lucas. Today it is a core bottle in the Código range. It won a Gold Medal at the 2021 SIP Awards, plus a SIP Innovation Award that same year.

Lift the glass and you get red wine and floral notes. The palate shows bright agave with deep fruit underneath. The finish stays bright and lightly floral.

Sip it neat or on the rocks, or mix a Rosa Paloma or a Margarita. It pairs nicely with grilled seafood, roasted chicken or spicy Mexican dishes. For dessert, try it with cheesecake. The blush color makes it a lovely gift for a special occasion.
