Codigo Reposado Tequila (750Ml)

Description

Código 1530 Reposado is a rested tequila with a wine-country twist. It is made from 100% blue Weber agave grown in the Jalisco lowlands. The tequila comes from a single NOM distillery in Amatitán and is bottled at origin. Código adds no sugar, flavoring, coloring or chemicals.

What makes it different is the barrel. It rests for six months in French white oak that once held Napa Valley Cabernet. Código says it ages to taste, not to a clock. That wine wood gives the tequila its amber color and a soft roundness.

Bring the glass up and you get toasted oak and caramel. The first sip shows sweet agave, warm vanilla and a little black pepper. Hints of toasted caramel and cocoa powder show up as it opens. The finish is smooth and balanced, never sharp.

It has a shelf of medals to back it up. In 2022 it won Gold and a Consumers' Choice Award at the SIP Awards. It also took Silver that year in San Francisco.
