Bushmills 25 Year Single Malt Irish Whiskey (750Ml)

Description

Bushmills 25 Year Old is a small-batch single malt from County Antrim. It is made from malted barley and distilled three times. The whiskey first matured in bourbon barrels and sherry butts. It then spent 21 years in first-fill ruby port pipes. A family cooperage hand-builds those pipes from European oak. It is bottled at 46% ABV.

All that time in port wood shows in the glass, which glows a deep red gold. On the nose you get ripe dark hedgerow fruit and honey. Gentle toasted wood sits underneath and hints at its long age.

Sweet almond comes first when you sip. Then caramelized cherries, plums and blackberries take over. Dark chocolate, polished leather and sweet spice follow, with a last note of honey and damson plum. The finish is long. Warm oak, port sweetness and gentle spice linger well after you set the glass down.

The awards back it up. In 2024 it won Gold and Best Irish Whiskey at the International Whisky Competition, scoring 92.4 points. It also took Gold at The Spirits Business Irish Whiskey Masters that year. Whisky Advocate rated it 94 points.

Sip it neat to catch every layer, or add a drop of water to open the fruit. Dark chocolate, aged cheese or a good cigar all suit it. This is a bottle for slow evenings and big occasions. It also makes a memorable gift for someone who loves Irish whiskey.
