You’re looking at a premium aged rum crafted in the Dominican Republic, a place known for making great rum. It comes from a family-owned distillery with more than 135 years of experience, guided today by a fifth-generation master rum maker. They use a lighter distillation style that removes heavy alcohols, so the barrel aging shapes most of the flavor.
The rum rests in American oak Sherry casks. These casks give it subtle fruit and spice notes. Then something special happens: the rum leaves the casks, and the empty wood gets a precise aromatic toast. This creates tiny caramelized pockets inside the staves. When the rum returns to the cask, it absorbs those rich caramel tones. You get natural sweetness without any added sugar or color.
You’ll taste smooth vanilla, caramel, and toasted nuts first. Then come gentle hints of smoke, chocolate, dried fruits, and spice. It’s made for slow sipping, either neat or over ice.
