You read that right. What you see here is honest-to-goodness chile liqueur. Ancho Reyes makes theirs with the spicy poblano - picked while they're still green and then fire-roasted for a few hours. Those same chilies are then sliced and pureed before they go on a 6-month maceration period. The TLC doesn't stop there. Bottles of Ancho Reyes, every one, are all hand-labelled and bottled.
Ancho Reyes Verde Chile Poblano Liqueur oozes poblano - of course it does. Complex, bright, vegetal, a little spicy… It's what you can expect with every sip. The sip you get gives off a bright green chile heat that is more herbal than fiery, a mid‑palate of roasted pepper sweetness, and a wee touch of brown sugar - and a finish that leaves a lingering vegetal warmth and a citrus lift.
Ancho Reyes' Verde Chile Poblano Liqueur was dubbed the Best Liqueur of the Competition in 2011 by the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. It also won a Double Gold there, by the way. It also got a high score of 93 points at the Ultimate Spirits Competition, as well as a 90-point "Exceptional" rating from the Beverage Testing Institute.
Fight fire with fire using Ancho Reyes' Verde Chile Poblano Liqueur. Spicy cocktails and grilled pairings are a must! This spirit is for the adventurous, those who seek the spice of l (and drinks).ife
