When you’re in the mood for something sweet but also with a bit of a kick, look no further than a drink that has alcohol and a candy infusion added to the mix.
For all those Twix lovers out there, try a ‘Bailey’s Tiramisu Frappe.’ In a blender, mix 1 scoop of coffee ice cream, 1 shot of espresso, 50 ml of Bailey’s Biscotti Flavour, and 2 small biscotti of your choice. Pour in the frappe and add a sprinkling of biscotti crumbs.
An extra sweet tooth favorite is a ‘Watermelon Martini.’ It’s made with ¼ c. sugar, ¼ c. kosher salt, 6 oz. fresh watermelon juice, 2.5 oz. of good vodka, 2.5 oz. Limoncello, 1 oz. fresh lime juice, ice, and watermelon wedges for garnish. Chill 2-3 glasses in your fridge or freezer 10 minutes before making the cocktail; combine the sugar and salt, and then spread it on a flat bread plate. Dampen the rim of your glass with water or lime juice, and then dip it in the sugar/salt mixture. Combine the watermelon juice, vodka, liqueur, and lime juice in a cocktail shaker; fill the shaker with ice and shaker it with strength about 8 times. Strain and pour the mixture into the prepared glasses, and then garnish with a watermelon wedge.
Add a bit of sweet and sour into your life with a ‘Sweet & Sour Sparkler.’ It’s made with 2 oz. vodka, 1 oz. freshly squeezed lemon juice, 1 oz. room temp. cherry syrup (1 c. water, ¾ c. granulated sugar, and 1 c. rip cherries: in a small saucepan, heat the water, sugar, and cherries until the sugar has completely melted. Using a potato masher, smash the cherries and strain them through a fine mesh strainer, and then cool over an ice bath), club soda, and fresh basil for a garnish. In a small jam jar filled with ice, add the vodka, lemon juice, and cherry simple syrup; place the lid on tightly and shake. Remove the lid and fill the rest up with club soda.
