Have yourself a fun-filled tequila weekend with plenty of do-it-yourself drinks to make any party a fun one. All it takes are a few simple ingredients to get the ball rolling; an ‘El Torito’ is fantastic. It’s made with 1 oz. tequila and ½ oz. dark Crème de Cacao. Fill and old fashioned glass with ice, and then add both ingredients; simple and sweet for any evening. For a very flavorful mix, try ‘El Vampiro.’ It’s made with 2 oz. tequila, 2 oz. Sangrita, 4 oz. Squirt, juice of ½ lemon, a few drops of pepper sauce, pinch of salt, and a pinch of pepper. Build everything in a highball glass with a few ice cubes. Sweet drinks are delightful; ‘Essence de Mexico’ is just what the doctor ordered for a sweet night. It’s made with 1 oz. Herradura Anejo, ½ oz. honey syrup, ½ oz. Dark Crème de Cocoa, and a squeeze of lime. Combine all of the ingredients with ice in a shaker, shake well, and then strain into a martini glass. Garnish with grilled lime or chocolate candy. Add both for more fun.

Take on the challenge of ‘Fire and Ice.’ It’s exquisite. It’s made with 1 part tequila and 1 part Peppermint Schnapps. First it’s cool and calming, and then comes the fire. Orange juice makes almost any drink taste a little better; a ‘Freddy Fudpucker’ is perfect. It’s made with 1 oz. tequila, ½ Galliano, and orange juice. Pour the tequila into a Collins glass filled with ice, fill with orange juice, and then float the Galliano on top. For a tequila drink that is very subtle for beginners; a ‘Green Lizard’ is just right for you. It’s made with 1 part tequila and 1 part Crème de Menthe. Add a little pout to your night; a ‘Grenada de Tezon’ with have you wanting more. It’s made with 1 oz. tequila Tezon, grapefruit juice, and a splash of Grenadine. Pour the tequila in a highball glass filled with ice, fill with grapefruit juice, and then top with Grenadine. Enjoy.
