Get ready for a tasty palate cleanser; a piece of tequila heaven is right at your fingertips if you are good at following directions for a few minutes. A ‘Mexicana’ is simple and delightful drink that is sure to rock your get together. It’s made with 1 ¾ oz. Mezcal, ¾ oz. lemon or lime juice, 1.5 oz. pineapple juice, a splash of grenadine, and crushed ice. Mix all of the ingredients in a shaker with 1 scoop of crushed ice, strain into a highball glass, and serve over fresh crushed ice.
Another perfect choice for any night in is a ‘Mexican Mermaid.’ It’s made with 1 oz. premium tequila, 1 triangular chunk of fresh pineapple coated with sugar crystals, chilled, dry, and fruity champagne, a splash of Curacao, and a long twist of spiral cut lime peel. Attach the sugar coated pineapple chunk to the rim of a champagne flute glass, add tequila and fill the glass with champagne, adding the blue Curacao and a spiral of lime peel. To drink it, first drop the pineapple chunk into the drink for an added splash of bubble fun.
Take a dive into a ‘Mexicola.’ It’s made with 2 oz. tequila, cola, and a lime wedge. The simplicity of it goes a long way. Pour the tequila over ice, and add cola to fill the rest of the glass up. Garnish with a lime wedge that’s squeezed before drinking. Join the Navy of tequila with a ‘Navy Seal.’ It’s made with 1 oz. tequila, 1 oz. Jagermeister, and 1 oz. Bacardi 151 Rum. Mix together and serve in 3 shot glasses. This drink is best enjoyed with a couple of friends. For a really strong and enjoyable drink, make an ‘Old Town Ice Tea.’ It’s made with ½ oz. Jose Cuervo Gold Tequila, ½ oz. Tangueray Gin, ½ oz. Montecristo Rum, ½ oz. Level Vodka, ½ oz. Patron Citronge, 2.5 oz. sweet & sour, and a splash of cranberry juice. Fill a pint glass with ice, pout in the liquor, then sweet & sour; add a splash of cranberry juice, and then garnish with a lime wedge. Enjoy the party.
