“HAPPY HALLOWEEN: MAKE ME A COCKTAIL!”

It’s that time of year again where all the trick or treats are happening. The kids are having all the fun, but what about the adults? Well that’s about to change! It’s time to introduce to you some very exciting Halloween cocktail treats that will surely make your holiday a blast. For those of you that like a little spook on this fun night, try making a ‘Black Cauldron.’ The color is jet black, and it looks like melted licorice in a glass. To make it, you will fill a cocktail shaker with ice, combine 1 ½ parts Hornitos Black Barrel Tequila, ¼ part agave syrup, ¾ part fresh lemon juice, ¼ part sage simple syrup, 2 dashes Angostura bitters, and 1 capsule activated charcoal (which adds a jet-black hue and a light smoky flavor to the mix). Shake it intensely, and then strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with a lemon slice that’s been dipped in the cocktail mix for an added spookiness. ‘The Boneyard’ is a fun one. It’s pretty and blue. You will fill a cocktail shaker with ice; combine 1 ounce light rum, 1 ounce gin, 1 ounce silver tequila, 1 ounce vodka, 1 ½ ounces blue Curacao, and 2 ounces sour mix. Shake and strain into a glass with ice. Top it with La Croix sparkling water. You can add a straw with a skeleton attached for added fun. Heat up your night with ‘Heat of the Moment.’ Fill a cocktail glass with ice, and then add 2 slices of Fresno Chile, 2 ounces Espolon reposado tequila, 1 ounce Funkin’ passion fruit puree, ½ ounce fresh lime juice, and ½ ounce agave syrup. Shake intensely, and then strain into a rimed glass with fresh ice. Half of the rim should have cinnamon sugar added to it, while the other half have Fresno Chile horns, then a lime spiral in the middle of the horns. It should look like a devil glass. Halloween is all about the best pumpkin; a pumpkin drink would be perfect to have on this special night. ‘Smoked Pumpkin’ is all the Halloween rage in cocktails. You will fill a cocktail shaker with ice, add 1 ounce Ketel One Orange, ¼ ounce lime juice, 1 ounce Illegal Mezcal, 2 heaping bar spoons of pumpkin butter, and 2 dashes of orange biters. Shake well and then strain into a rocks glass with cubes ice. Garnish with an orange twist and a sprinkle of flake smoke salt. It will be a drink you’ll want to have all year round. Happy trick or treating!
