Like all organic wines, it will be almost impossible for anyone to find if a bottle of wine is kosher just by drinking it. The simplest way to find if a bottle of wine is kosher or non-kosher is by reading the label.
Kosher wines will be indicated with a “K” symbol, meaning that no non-kosher animal products are used in making the wine, and that it is made in a winery that is completely kosher. There are also kosher wine bottles that are marked “Kosher for Passover”. These wines are made under even stricter conditions and so the bottles may also bear letter “P” near to the “K” symbol. Below are some of the best brands of kosher wines that go amazingly well with any event.
Yarden Blanc de Blancs 2008
This wine is made from Chardonnay grapes of the northern Golan Heights area in Israel. The wine has a delicate blend lemon, flower, and apple note, with a fresh and fruity finish that makes it a good apertif with fish and caviar.
Goose Bay 2012 South Island Sauvignon Blanc
New Zealand is not that famous for kosher wines, but has been always famous for Sauvignon Blanc. However, there is a winery in New Zealand that produces world-class kosher Sauvignon Blanc. The wine has Gooseberry and cut grass aroma with biting lemon acidity.
Don Ernesto’s 2015 Beret Rose
Don Ernesto states that, “Like a rainbow or a puppy or a beautiful sunset, wine should make you feel happy to be alive and enjoying life surrounded by friends.” This is what he describes in his winemaking philosophy, as the 2015 Beret Rose wine is made from 100% Syra.
Galil Ela 2012
This wine is a rich blend of 61% Syra, 32% Barbera, and 7% Petit Verdot, making it a full-bodied kosher wine. The wine is made from top quality grapes of Gali Mountain winery. The aging period of the wine is twelve months and it is aged in oak barrels.
Prix 2009 Reserve Syrah
This is a reserve wine brand from Hagafen Cellars. The grapes to make the wine are carefully selected from Sonoma and Napa vineyards, and the wine offers blackberry and black cherry acidity with a slight caramel hint.
