Wild Turkey Spiced takes the distillery's Kentucky straight bourbon and adds a mix of spices. It launched in 2013 as a bourbon for people who usually reach for spiced rum. Like every Wild Turkey whiskey, the base ages in oak barrels with a deep No. 4 "alligator" char. It is bottled at 86 proof.

The spices are natural, with vanilla bean, clove and cinnamon in the mix. You can smell vanilla and caramel first, then clove and a light touch of oak.

Sip it and the sweetness comes forward. Vanilla and caramel carry cinnamon and clove across your tongue, with oak in the background. As it fades, the spice hangs on and mingles with the sugar.

This bottle is happiest in a glass with ice and mixer. Wild Turkey says it really shines with cola. Ginger ale and warm apple cider are easy wins too. You can pour it over ice on its own if you like a sweet, spiced sip.

Serve it with BBQ ribs, apple pie or a tray of brownies. It is a fun pick for parties and a good swap if you usually drink spiced rum.
