WhistlePig PiggyBack is a 6-year-old rye whiskey made from 100% rye. WhistlePig built it with bartenders in mind and calls it a bartender's dream. It still drinks well on its own in a rocks glass.

The late master distiller Dave Pickerell came up with PiggyBack in 2018. It was the brand's first new whiskey after he passed away. The odd 96.56 proof nods to his birth year, 1956. Even the pig on the label wears his trademark Stetson.

Fresh cinnamon and black peppercorn hit the nose first, with tangerine and grapefruit zest. The palate is powerfully spicy, with cocoa, cardamom and cured leather. The finish runs long, with baking spice, vanilla and a last hint of citrus.

WhistlePig lists a Double Gold medal from the World Spirits Competition. Wine Enthusiast scored it 93 points.

Make it the base for your favorite cocktail, from a Maple Old Fashioned to a Boulevardier. The higher strength holds up to vermouth, bitters and ice. Aged cheddar, smoked meats and dark chocolate all match its spice.
