Tullamore D.E.W. Caribbean Rum Cask starts with the brand’s Original Irish whiskey. That is a triple-distilled, triple blend of pot still, malt and grain whiskeys. It then rests in first-fill casks that once held Demerara rum from the Caribbean. It is bottled at 43% ABV.

The idea pays tribute to an old link between Ireland and the Caribbean. Irish immigrants helped shape early rum making there in the 1600s. The label art draws on old trade maps, passport stamps and travel journals.

On the nose you’ll find vanilla and oak, with ripe banana, a little citrus and gentle spice. The palate feels creamy. Caramel and banana lead, with hints of dates and raisins. The finish is long and sweet, and the banana and caramel stay with you.
