The Macallan Edition 5 (750Ml)

Description

The Macallan Edition No. 5 is the fifth bottling in the limited Edition Series. It came out in 2019 to celebrate the natural colour of Macallan whisky. Whisky Maker Sarah Burgess picked American oak casks for their colour. Nothing is added to it.

Nose it first and you will find vanilla and toffee. Oak, nutmeg, ginger, lemon basil and pear come next. The palate is fresh and sweet. Caramel turns into poached peaches and ripe pear, then toffee and light oak spice. The finish is long and sweet.

The bold purple bottle was made with the Pantone Color Institute. It mirrors a whisky with many layers. It is bottled at 48.5% ABV.

Pour it neat to enjoy the fruit and spice. A few drops of water can lift the aroma. It pairs well with roast chicken, smoked salmon or a fruit tart. It makes a lovely gift for a Macallan fan.
